Description:
The National Association of School Psychologists seeks a Director of Professional Development and Standards to implement current and help plan the future needs of professional standards and continuing professional development (CPD).
Applicants must be knowledgeable about education and mental health issues and possess a blend of direct service and program planning knowledge and experience to shape a growing CPD program that supports its rich professional standards activities (e.g., ethics, credentialing, and accreditation). NASP seeks a professional with leadership, communication, interpersonal, and program management skills.

Primary Responsibilities
Professional Development. Consult and collaborate regarding implementation of CPD for school psychologists; manage the NASP Approved Provider System (APS). Provide leadership in writing or supervising the development of new CPD resources and modules.
Credentialing/National School Psychology Certification System (NSPCS). Market, manage, and ensure procedural adherence to ensure a national certification system that maintains its policy standards. Provide mail, phone, and face-to-face (annual convention) technical assistance. Support the work of the NASP Certification Board.
Program Approval. Maintain the list of NASP-approved training programs in partnership with the Program Approval Board. Market, manage, and ensure procedural adherence to ensure an accreditation process that maintains its policy standards. Provide mail, phone, and face-to-face (annual convention) technical assistance. Support the work of the NASP Program Approval Board.
Professional Relations. Be part of the staff team that represents NASP at various meetings and educational coalitions where its professional development and standards are most relevant. Provide technical assistance to the profession and the public regarding ethics and similar professional issues.

Requirements
Graduate degree in school psychology or a related field; experience with professional standards and CPD procedures preferred. Demonstrated organizational, collaboration, supervision, and oral and written communication skills in both technical and interpersonal matters. A service orientation with staff colleagues, volunteer leaders, and members. Ability to manage/improve outcomes for multiple projects, use technology, and problem-solve.
